Our beloved brother, Richard, passed away suddenly, at home, March 2, 2013 at age 55. Born and raised in Olympia, he was a typical kid who loved sports, motorcycles, and fishing – especially salmon fishing! He turned that passion into a very successful 33-year maritime career as a tugboat captain, achieving the high-level U.S.C.G. Master License. Since 1995, he worked for Brusco Tug & Barge operating tugs, towing barges along the west coast and north to the Bering Sea. He witnessed amazing displays of nature at sea, fueling an interest in photography.

In his spare time Richard enjoyed time with friends, car racing, traveling, golf, and especially his Harley! He was kind, courageous, and very generous.
