Betty Lee Krigbaum, 82, a longtime resident of the South Beach communities, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. She was born in Lynden, Washington on August 7, 1930, the youngest of four children to Jay L. and Lila (Himler) Vinson. She came with her family to O’Leary Creek from Whidbey Island in 1936 and graduated from Ocosta High School in 1948.
Betty married Gilbert Lee Krigbaum at her home at O’Leary Creek on October 1, 1948. The lived on the Harbor and settled in Westport in 1957 as Gilbert was a commercial fisherman on the coast and in Alaska. Betty was a homemaker but also worked as a crab shaker for Washington Crab Producers in Westport, for many years.
