Hoquiam native and longtime Central Park resident Mary Hoover Moran passed away on July 5th at the age of 71. She was born in Hoquiam to Don and Gladyse Hoover and attended Hoquiam schools, graduating third in her class from Hoquiam High School in 1963. She was a distinguished musician in high school and was selected to the all-state band for alto saxophone. She attended Grays Harbor College and graduated from Central Washington University. She was a Social Worker for DSHS for many years and had many fond memories of the children she worked with in foster care especially those she helped with adoption.
