OLYMPIA — Patricia Hayes, longtime resident of Elma died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Capital Medical Center in Olympia. She was 62.

A celebration of her life will be held at noon Wednesday at the Elma Eagles Hall.

Rebekah Ann Bryant, 25 years old, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013, due to complications from the flu virus.

Rebekah was gifted to this world on April 28, 1987, in Superior, Montana. She spent her childhood years growing up in Hoquiam, Washington. Her summers were spent in Superior with her Nana, Papa and sister Allison, floating the creek, laughing for hours and developing the amazing personality that we have all come to love. Bekah was known to all for her beautiful smile, fun loving spirit and deep spiritual soul. Bekah loved to write, draw, sing, dance, laugh… she loved life! But most of all, Rebekah loved being a mother.

SOUTH BEND — Deborah D. Ogilvie, a longtime Raymond resident, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend. She was 61.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Barge Restaurant in Raymond.

Margie JoAnn DeBard

Margie DeBard, a longtime resident of Central Park passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013. The youngest of four siblings, Margie JoAnn Warnke was born on August 24, 1934, in Flaxton, North Dakota.

As a child she and her family moved to the Seattle area where she later met George DeBard. On June 6, 1953, George and Margie began their lives as husband and wife. They raised two boys, Gary and David, and settled in the Aberdeen area in 1980, surrounded by their loved ones.

Kenneth E. Green, 78, a longtime South Bend resident died on February 1, 2013, at his home with his wife at his side.

Ken was born on August 16, 1934, in Herrick, South Dakota to Cecil and Mathilda (Beiermann) Green. He moved to South Bend with his family in 1947. He attended school in South Bend and later joined the Air Force and served from 1953 - 1957. He married Marlene Zeitner in Eugene, Oregon on April 27, 1957. After his discharge he returned to South Bend where he and his wife raised their family. He worked for BryMar Cleaners before opening his own business, Green’s Cleaners, in South Bend.

Michael Allen Johnson, 41, of Raymond passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. Michael was born April 13, 1971, in Aberdeen to Linda (Johnson) Edinger.

Mike was raised in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1989. On August 7, 1998, Mike married Robyn McFarlane in South Bend. They later divorced.

Albert Welke, 99, a longtime resident of Grays Harbor passed away on January 5, 2013, at the home of his son, Donald, in Cerritos, California, where he had been living for the past three and a half years. He was born on February 10, 1913, in Saskatchewan, Canada, where his parents were wheat farmers. He later married Alice Maybel Hove and moved to Vancouver where he served in the reserve Canadian Army during World War II. He had two children there, Bonnie and Donald. Later in the early 1950’s he migrated to the Harbor to work as a machinist for Lambs Grays Harbor where he worked for 25 years, until he retired.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Maybel Hove; his second wife, Olga Ness; his daughter, Bonnie; and his two sisters, Florence and Ida. He is survived by his son, Donald; daughter-in-law, Carmen; and their children, Albert Jr. Donald Jr. and Hollie. He is also survived by Bonnie’s son, Tom Mylroie or New York, Donna Kennerly of Vancouver, Harvey Nagel of Alberta and Patricia Rhodes of Saskatchewan; and cousins, Gordon and Esther Stewart of Abbotsford.

A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at Elma United Methodist Church.

Lillie Mae Runyon, longtime Raymond resident died on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at her home in Raymond, at the age of 87. Lillie was born on August 7, 1925, in Moose, Washington, to John Westley and Grace Anna (Clements) King.

Lillie married Richard Dale Runyon in South Bend, Wash. on April 7, 1956. He survives her at the family home in Raymond.

She had worked at Pacific Care Center and as a home-care provider.

M. Virginia Quimby, a lifelong Grays Harbor resident, passed-away in McCleary on January 28, 2013. She was 96. Virginia was born on January 5, 1917, in Melbourne, Washington, to LeRoy and Janet Jones. She married F.G. “Jim” Quimby on July 3, 1935. Virginia was a member of the Grays Harbor Saddle Club and the Elma Eagles FOE #1440.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Hill of Napavine; daughters-in-law, Rae (Jack) Quimby of Elma and Kathy (Mike) Quimby of Olympia;, 18 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and numerous great and great-greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Kennedy of Bend, Oregon and Carla Clark of Olympia; and her brother, Jim Jones of Dalles City, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her husband, F.G. “Jim” Quimby; sons, Wesley, Mike and Jack; grandchildren, Clifford Aply and Janet Quimby; great-granddaughter, Rebecca Horrace; and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Lifelong Aberdeen resident Martin Sven Schefstrom, 86, passed away at Grays Harbor Community Hospital on Sunday, February 3, 2013. Martin was born April 10, 1926, in Aberdeen, Washington, to Sven and Myrtle (Freeburg) Schefstrom. Martin graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1944 and enlisted in the Navy shortly after graduation. He served on the U.S.S. Coos Bay and the U.S.S. Gardiners Bay during World War II.

On May 7, 1955, Martin married Dorothy Eldart at The First Baptist Church in Aberdeen. She survives him at their home in Hoquiam.


Gilbert Lee Krigbaum

Gilbert Lee Krigbaum, 83, a Westport resident for over 70 years, died at Providence St. Peter Hospital, in Olympia, on Monday, February 4, 2013. He was born in Portland, Oregon, April 9, 1929, the son of Conrad and Opal (Forgey) Krigbaum. He was the oldest of seven siblings.

The family moved to Westport in the 1940’s and Gilbert attended Ocosta schools. He joined the Navy in 1947 but returned home to help support the family. He spent his life buying and building boats, fishing for crab and tuna on the coast, seining in southeast Alaska and tendering out of Cordova, Alaska. He was one of the founding stockholders of Washington Crab Producers. After many years in the fishery he retired in 2006.

Mary Perkins was born on March 28, 1914, in Aberdeen, Washington, and passed away peacefully on January 31, 2013, in Seattle. She was the daughter of Steve and Lucy Yarak of Aberdeen. Fond memories were summers living at Pacific Beach, and adventures with brothers, Steve and Rudy Yarak.

On July 4, 1943, Mary married her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Art, just prior to his long overseas World War II service. Daughter Marie was privileged to be born May 31, 1944, to these wonderful parents.

Henry Nelson Bickmore, Jr. (Hank), age 77, of Elma, Washington, passed away of a long time illness on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at his home with his wife, Janette, children and friends at his side.

He was born in Garland, Maine, on March 25, 1935, to Henry N. and Alice Bickmore. Hank married Janette Maria Stymiest on January 21, 1958 in Corina, Maine. Hank joined the Army in 1953, was discharged in June of 1961, then moved to Washington State in 1964 where he was a police officer for 4 years. Hank loved to hunt and fish, play pool and spend time with his family.

Othel Wayne Castor

Othel Wayne Castor passed away on January 13, 2013, after a two year battle with cancer.

Born on September 9, 1939, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Othel and Edith Castor. Wayne moved with his family from Blackwell to Hoquiam, Wash. At age 17, he entered the U.S. Marines with his longtime friend, Bill Cooper. He then transferred into the U.S. Air Force where he served as an airport crash firefighter. After five years of service he was honorable discharged and soon after that he wed his longtime love, Charlotte Darlene Nordstrom.
