Charles John “Chuck” Werley, 71, a longtime Pacific County resident died Friday, May 24, 2013, at his home in Raymond. He was born August 7, 1941, in Potsdam, New York, to Gerald Carl and Chuck graduated from Anacortes High School with the class of 1959. He went on to Western Washington University where he graduated after earning his BA degree. He married Sharon Lee Tubbs December 27, 1963, in Anacortes, Wash. She survives him at the family home in Raymond. Together they had two children; a daughter, Janice Werley of Tacoma, Wash., and a son, Scott (Gretchen) Werley of Portland, Ore. Chuck is also survived by a brother, Keith (Cindi) Werley of Orting, Wash.
Mr. Werley taught at the Willapa Valley School district for 34 years. He retired in 1997. For 10 years Chuck had also worked in Valdez, Alaska, doing quality control work for Peter Pan Seafood Company.
