BROOKLYN — Harold Leroy Patterson, a well-known educator and preacher in the Indian Shaker Church, died Saturday evening, May 18, 2013, at his home in Brooklyn. He was 92. A feature about Patterson ran last week on the front page of The Daily World and is still available online. Known as “Mr.Pat,” he was so revered by members of the Quinault Indian Nation that he was formally adopted by the tribe.
A candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam. A funeral will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam, followed by interment at 1 p.m. at the Brooklyn Cemetery. A Quinault salmon bake will follow at 5 p.m. at the community center in Taholah.
