Norma B. Pekola

Norma B. Pekola, of McCleary, passed away from Alzheimers disease on April 18, 2013, at the Hindbaugh Adult Family Home in Montesano, Washington, at the age of 88 years. Norma was born January 2, 1925, in Hoquiam, Washington to Thomas and Dora Coombs Morton. She was the youngest of eight children. She grew up in Hoquiam and graduated in 1943 from Hoquiam High School. After she graduated she worked as a book keeper for Harvey Lawrence and Lamb Manufacturing.

In 1946, she met Paul P. Pekola , and the two were married soon after on February 16, 1946. The couple moved to the Mox Chehalis Road, outside of McCleary, where they bought property and rebuilt an old house. They have lived there for 67 years. Paul and Norma have two children, Trudy and Terry. She loved being involved in all of their activities as they grew up. Norma sold Stanley Home Products, and was the book keeper for Pekola-Hebert Logging, and the Pekola Limited Family Partnership for many years.
