Odmun Ingvald Ericksen, 92, longtime resident of the Harbor, died at an Olympia care center, Sunday, February 10, 2013. He was born in Kvefjord, Norway, January 4, 1921, the son of Olaf Alfred and Anna Karolina (Norman) Ericksen.
He came with his family to Seattle in 1929, and later went to Ketchikan, Alaska where he graduated from High School. He returned to Seattle in 1940, and attended the University of Washington. He joined the Army in 1942, serving the Signal Corps., until 1945. Following the War he returned to Seattle and commercial fishing. He was married to Nina Peterson in Seattle, November 7, 1959, and they came to the Harbor in 1968, living in East Hoquiam. Owned and operated his own commercial fishing boats until 1973. Nina passed away here in 2006.
