M. Virginia Quimby, a lifelong Grays Harbor resident, passed-away in McCleary on January 28, 2013. She was 96. Virginia was born January 5, 1917, in Melbourne, Washington, to LeRoy and Janet Jones. She married F.G. “Jim” Quimby on July 3, 1935. Virginia was a member of the Grays Harbor Saddle Club and the Elma Eagles FOE#1440.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Hill of Napavine; daughters-in-law, Rae (Jack) Quimby of Elma and Kathy (Mike) Quimby of Olympia; 18 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Kennedy of Bend, Oregon and Carla Clark of Olympia; and her brother, Jim Jones of Dalles City, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her husband, F.G. “Jim” Quimby; sons, Wesley, Mike and Jack; grandchildren, Clifford Aply and Janet Quimby; great-granddaughter, Rebecca Horrace; and 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
