William E. “Bill” Weaver, 90, a resident of the Harbor for 59 years, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Bill was born in Freewater, Oregon on March 31, 1922, the son of Clarence William and Myra H. (Potter) Weaver. He attended schools in Freewater and had served in the Army during World War II in France and Germany where he received a purple.
He had worked in the woods and came to National, Wash., near Rainier National Park, in 1953 where he had also operated a gas station and restaurant. The following year he came to Aberdeen and worked for Evans Products and Aberdeen Plywood where he was a foreman. In 1975, he went to work for Ocean Spray as a mechanic and foreman and then J.C. Penney Store at South Shore Mall until he retired in 1990.
