Betty was born in Portland, Ore. on Sept. 7, 1919, to James and Ethel Doyle. She died June 18, 2016, in Montesano. She spent her first four years in Neilton — a small community adjacent to Quinault Lake. The family moved to Aberdeen, where she attended A.J. West, Miller Jr. High and Weatherwax High School with the class of 1938. During WWII she worked at Fort Lewis. After the war she spent many years in Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe and Florida.
