Kathryn Louise Bruner (Pittman) passed away on April 9, 2016, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Elma on July 11, 1949, and spent most of her life in Washington. Kathryn was a trailblazer for women in criminal justice serving as one of the first female police officers for the Puyallup Tribal Police and one of the first to serve with the Washington State Department of Corrections. She served in criminal justice in Washington for 38 years.
