Dorothy Jean Shaw, 83, left this earth to be reunited with her husband on June 12, 2015, what would have been their 67th wedding anniversary. She was born at home on the Wishkah Road on Oct. 20, 1931 to Hazel West and William Parbon. She attended Aberdeen schools and as a teenager worked at the Aberdeen Theater. On June 12, 1948 she married Leonard J. Shaw Sr. In 1959, the couple moved to Cosmopolis, where she lived in the same house until her death. During the 1950s and 1960s Dorothy worked as a waitress at the Smoke Shop and New China Café. She tended bar at The Black Panther (Rainbow Tavern). Dorothy owned and operated Dot’s Inn from 1964-1966, in Aberdeen. Dorothy’s passion and dedication was to her family. She was the typical 1950s housewife and so much more. After raising her three children, she had a big hand in raising her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. All of whom love her and will miss her very much.
