Marvin B. Chouinard, 98, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Providence St. Peter Hospital. He was born in Lewiston, Mont. to Joseph and Emily (Hebert) Chouinard in 1916, and lived in Oakville and Cosmopolis most of his life. He attended school in Oakville and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1940. He married Mildred Gustafson of Oakville in November 1941. He was a member of the CCC’s, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Marvin is survived by his children Carol, Carmen, Gene and Yvonne, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin worked for Weyerhaeuser as a forester for 35 years. He was active in 4-H, Masons, Eastern Star, Oakville senior lunch, American Legion and Oakville Volunteer Fire Dept. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters, brothers and his son Ray. Memorials in his honor may be made to Providence St. Peter Foundation, Oakville Fire Department, Oakville Methodist Church and charities of Eastern Star and Masons.
