Judy Hawley Smith was born in Tacoma, Wash. on Sept. 25, 1939, to Orville and Chela Wiley. On Sunday, March 8, 2015, she passed away peacefully at home and went to hold her grandson Cole Kuzaro, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Aberdeen, Wash. with her two sisters Diane Patton and Joyce Bogdon, and brother Orville Wiley. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1957. She had a long and successful career as the purchasing agent for the Auburn School District and retired at the age of 55. She took great pride in her flower gardens and was fiercely creative and meticulous about her crafts, which included woodworking, painting, ceramics and numerous other innovative hobbies. Her current passion was being Nana for her grandson Drew Kuzaro. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melina and Cory Kuzaro. She raised her daughter with the motto to be courageous and to know she could accomplish whatever she set her mind out to do. She will be greatly missed. A life remembrance for Judy will be held on March 29th at 11 a.m. at her daughter’s home.
