Robert “Bob” Edwin Reed was reunited with his adoring wife and sweetheart Harriette Mussetta Reed on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015. Their 55 year romance began on a timber crew bus in Idaho and was sealed forever when she invited him to dinner and her daughters decided to never let him leave. Together, they raised his son and her children as their own and taught each one of them the meaning of unconditional love. “Gramps” was an avid hunter and fisherman, sharing his love of the outdoors with all. His first job was driving a team of logging horses at the age of 14 with other positions including managing the Schafer Brothers Filbert Farm for 12 years, working at Camp Grisdale and ending his career with Simpson Timber Company as a catskinner in 1980. Bob served for two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II engaging in combat in the Pacific Theater earning an honorable discharge. It’s with incredibly heavy hearts that we let Gramps join Grandma and leave us forever except in spirit.
