Born in Lyngstad, Nordmore, Norway to Henning and Julie (Ørgesvik) Skotheimsvik; Henry moved from Kristiansund, Norway to the United States settling in Aberdeen, Wash., with his family including older brothers Jarle and Erling, in 1929 at the age of six. Like many European immigrants, their surname was Americanized to Scott upon entry from Norway to America via Canada.
