All gave some. Some gave all. Phillip Merino, a Korean War veteran who served during the Vietnam War era, passed on July 10, 2014. He was born October 3, 1953 and was a lifelong resident of Westport, Wash. Phil played sports all through school. He graduated from Ocosta High School in 1971, the same year his high school basketball team took the state championships – the first and last time ever such a victory occurred in the history of OHS.
