Charles “Todd” A. Moulton passed away peacefully on January 8, 2014, in Olympia with his family at his side. Todd was born on July 15, 1927, in Aberdeen, to Arthur and Marjorie Moulton. He was raised in Cosmopolis and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1945. Todd was a WWII veteran having served in the US Navy and being on one of the first ships to reach Japan after the bombs were dropped. He often told stories of the devastation and shared photos that he took during that time. Upon his return, Todd attended WSU and on February 18, 1950, he married Patricia Helland in Aberdeen. They settled in Cosmopolis where they raised their four children. Todd began work for the US Postal service as a carrier in Aberdeen and was promoted to Postmaster in 1965. He served as Postmaster in Cosmopolis for many years as well as in Raymond and Hillsboro, Oregon, before retiring in 1982 after 35 years. On April 16, 1977, Todd married Roxanne Clark Holmes and added two stepchildren to his fold. They have resided in Olympia for the last 31 years. Todd worked at the Thurston County Clerk’s Office from which he enjoyed a second retirement in 2009. He coached Little League, served on the Cosmopolis school board and was a member of the Lions Club and Elks Club. Todd loved reading books, doing crossword puzzles, foraging for wild blackberries, clamdigging, hunting deer and elk and being outdoors. He loved sports and especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play. Todd had a quick wit, marvelous sense of humor, a true talent for story telling with an amazing memory for details. He truly enjoyed people and never met a stranger. He was quick to lend a hand when needed. Todd loved road trips and he and Roxanne made several to see sights all around the US and to attend Mariner Spring training games.
