Marvin “Skip” Boome, Sr., 64, and a longtime Harborite, died on Monday, November 18, 2013, at his home in Hoquiam, Washington. He was born on March 2, 1949, in Aberdeen, Washington, to Sylvester Peter and Jennie (Martin) Boome and was an enrolled member of the Quinault Indian Nation. He was raised in the Queets and Taholah areas and attended the Taholah and Moclips schools.
Marvin served with the US Army in 1968 and 1969, and then two more years in the Army Reserves. He worked as a hook tender for Keith Ross Logging for 20 years. He had also been a commercial fisherman, clam digger and a shake block cutter. He enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners and the Seattle Seahawks. He liked recreational hunting and fishing. He attended the Pentecostal Church in Taholah.
